David is Pondera’s clinical director bringing 28 years of experience in the management and treatment of conditions affecting people’s ability to live life to the fullest.

David established Pondera in 2006 with a vision of offering to the general public the combined expertise of many disciplines seen at professional sports teams and performing arts companies.

His early career was in the fast learning curve regions of Mt Isa and Townsville before a 12-month round-the-world adventure turned into five years in London as the Senior Physiotherapist at London Wasps Rugby Club. He has held on to sporting links and in 2011 was part of the medical team for the Qld Reds Super Rugby title winning squad.

Inspired by his wife Lisa Wilson (and now two daughters Keira & Georgie), recent years have seen him transition to extensive involvement in the performing arts sector. He is currently consulting Physiotherapist to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Queensland Conservatorium. He has held similar roles with Queensland Ballet, Expressions Dance Company, Qld Theatre, Opera Qld and high-profile musicals such as Rock of Ages, Grease, Wicked, Matilda and Mary Poppins.

David is also a previous National Vice President of ASPAH (Australian Society of Performing Arts Healthcare).

Clinically, David enjoys the challenge of solving longstanding pain with a wide range of manual therapy skills, rehabilitation techniques and diagnostic experience.

His approach to your care is to search for the primary reason for your pain or injury and develop a physical rehabilitation program to minimise pain and maximise function, driven by an ultimate goal to be able to perform at your best – whatever stage you are on.
