We are very sad to share the passing of John Curro AM MBE.
As the Founder of the Queensland Youth Orchestra, the Festival Patron of ASPIRE and many more services to music in Australia, John Curro inspired many thousands of musicians. His passion and tireless service to the music community and music education sector in Australia has been simply extraordinary. He has touched and enriched the lives of so many students, fellow educators and musicians.
His enthusiasm in support of ASPIRE has been incomparable, from its early inception in 2017, to regular catch-ups right up until a few days ago.
The ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival team is extremely saddened to hear of John’s passing, and we would like to express our sincere condolences to the Curro family.
John is a Queensland legend and he will be deeply missed by Australia’s music community and beyond.
